Work Experience

Draper (Nov 2022 - present)

Arena Stage  - Washington, D.C.

I lead my team in creating costumes based on renderings and conversations with designers. I develop patterns and the plan for every garment assigned to my team.

Cutter/Draper (Sept 2021- Nov 2022)

Olney Theatre Center - Olney, MD

I used research and direct collaboration with designers to bring shows to life by developing patterns and a construction plan. I cut all pieces and either build and fit costume items myself or delegate to other members of the team of varying skill levels.  I also help with alterations on all other pieces.

First Hand (July 2018- Aug 2020)

Washington National Opera - Washington, D.C.

As a first hand, I cut patterns created by my draper. I also do some patterning projects as assigned, stitch when needed, relay information to stitchers, research topics as assigned by my draper and shop supervisor, and attend fittings and dress rehearsals. I also have assumed the role of Draper and lead my own team for our production of Faust in 2019.

Assistant Costume Shop Manager (August 2017- July 2018)

University of Maryland Baltimore County - Catonsville, MD

I worked closely with undergraduate students of all skill levels. I led all my students through the work that needed to be done for the show. I taught students how to run wardrobe, do fast emergency repairs, and apply make-up. I helped them learn how to stitch, build garments, make hats, and dye fabric.

Draper (March - April 2017)

Stonehill College - Easton, MA

Worked with the draper, resident designer, and student stitchers to create Shakespeare’s As You Like It performed by Stonehill theatre students.

Intern (September 2016 – December 2016)

Boston Ballet - Boston, MA

Assisted the costume shop as a floating stitcher and in fittings while learning about dancewear construction and fit issues. After the internship ended I was promoted to Junior Stitcher to help finish out The Nutcracker and continue The Sleeping Beauty

Costume Design Assistant (August 2016 - Sept 2016)
